Kevin Johansen and Liniers will present their joint show at La Rambleta, Valencia.

Valencia will welcome Kevin Johansen and Liniers to La Rambleta on June 10, as they return to Spain to close the final European leg of a tour that began in 2023 and that in 2026 will bid farewell to the stage, at least until further notice. The Valencia date forms part of the conclusion of a journey sustained over more than two years — an extended celebration of a shared project that has already surpassed one hundred performances and that for more than sixteen years has established itself as a singular proposal at the crossroads of music and illustration.

The show maintains its premise intact, as simple as it is difficult to replicate: Johansen performs live a selection of some of the most recognizable songs from his discography, while Liniers improvises, recreates, and transforms them into drawings created in real time and projected onto a large screen at the back of the stage. It is not a literal “illustration” of the music, but rather an open conversation between image and song, with room for commentary, digression, irony, and surprise. The result is a stage format that has been described as an illustrated concert, a live book, or a hybrid piece, sustained above all by the chemistry of two artists who understand the stage as a space for play and complicity.

Over the past fifteen years, the show has traveled from Latin America to Europe and has appeared in concert halls and theaters, as well as at cultural events and book fairs, where the project’s narrative and visual component finds a natural home. Audiences have received it with consistent enthusiasm — often with sold-out performances — eventually embracing it as a contemporary “classic” of that in-between space where music looks at itself in the mirror of drawing and drawing responds with humor, precision, and tenderness.

The trajectory of this project has also been documented in various formats. On one hand, two live DVDs recorded in Buenos Aires and Mexico City, released by Sony Music. On the other, two books — OOPS! and BIS — published by Ediciones de la Flor, which bring part of the spirit of these performances to the printed page. After several years without appearing together on stage, 2023 marked their reunion; 2024 consolidated a new phase; and 2025 expanded the route with new cities and the release of a new live album, Desde que te Madrid, recorded in the Spanish capital. That same year also saw the publication of the book Es nuestra forma de comunicarnos (Editorial Común), extending their creative dialogue into another medium.

The 2026 Tour is presented as the closing chapter of this extensive and celebrated run, with the final dates before a farewell “until further notice.” In this context, the Valencia stop at La Rambleta will be one of the key opportunities to experience a show that has remained vibrant performance after performance: an experience in which songs, drawing, friendship, and humor coexist, and where the audience witnesses — live — the creation of a small shared world.
